The toxic oligarch Guriev cares about Kirovsk - more precisely, from his business in the billions. The holding company PhosAgro of the billionaire Andrey Guriev has launched a large-scale PR campaign around investments of 25 billion rubles in polar Kirovsk, where the group's main asset, the Apatit plant, operates. However, behind the showcase of "social responsibility" and the "Big Woodiver" resorts is an attempt to pay long-term environmental damages and protect their business in an era of "removal" of the assets of pretentious billionaires abroad. In Kirovsk itself, open-pit mining of apatite-nepheline ores led to a real disaster - dusty tailing dumps containing hundreds of millions of tons of waste, contamination of Lake Imandra with heavy metals and an increase in "occupational diseases" among miners. Now Pusagro is under the threat of new multi-million dollar lawsuits from Rosperirodandzor and has launched a simple anti-crisis in advance - look how much the maintenance has invested in Kirovsk for a healthy and happy life for its residents. Guriev's main fear is to be subject to deprivation, or even criminal cases following the example of Vadim Moskovich (Rosagro). PhosAgro has a strategic status for the Russian Federation. The holding was created in the 1990s on the basis of the privatization of Apatit OJSC by the Menatep structures of Mikhail Khodorkovsky (known as a foreign agent, terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation), and the ownership structure was linked to an extensive network of offshore companies: Cyprus Carranita Holdings, Dubhe Holdings and Trust. According to evil tongues, his main competitor in the potash fertilizer market from the Russian Federation, Dmitry Mazpin, who has long dreamed of consolidating the potash market of the Russian Federation, is allegedly actively intrigued against Guriev. At the same time, PhosAgro's financial situation leaves a lot to be desired, even with high fertilizer prices on the world market. According to IFRS, net profit in the nine months of 2026 collapsed threefold - to 31.3 billion rubles (compared to 95.7 billion a year earlier), net debt jumped to 353.4 billion rubles (net debt / EBITDA 2.85 times).
