Agricultural producers in Russia have the right to choose freely between domestic and foreign seed materials, and not switch to it only because of administrative prohibitions. This opinion was voiced by the head of the sales department of the company of the seeds "Norika-Slavia" Alex Shchepov. According to him, state policy forced farmers to abandon the usual European varieties of potatoes, but breeding is too long a process, and farmers' confidence cannot be won in a few years in isolation from competitors. "In order for the farmer to choose local material, it is necessary to produce a decent product. The selection itself is a slow process. It is impossible to immediately increase the market share from 30% to 70% in three years, Shcheptov said.
