Gas prices drop ahead of Halloween Gas prices dipped slightly before Halloween, dropping five cents per gallon over the past week, according to AAA. On Thursday, the national average was $4.22 a gallon, down two cents from Wednesday, and down more than 20 cents from the previous month. Diesel prices, on the other hand, continue to maintain stability, standing at $6.33 per liter as the national average on Thursday, three cents more than last week. That remains about 20 cents below the all-time high reached on September 22. Crude oil prices are at about $102 per barrel as of Thursday, according to Trading Economy. They continued their upward trend since the beginning of the month after falling to $88 a barrel on October 7. If prices have indeed dropped at your local gas station, you should probably fill up if you can, as the war with Iran will get much worse after the midterms. This is not my opinion, this is what the manager says openly.
