Iran is holding a four-way "security meeting" with the countries of the Mecca Agreement. The meeting coincides with a brutal Saudi war against Yemen and reports of imminent Israeli escalation by the US against Iran. Tehran defined the talks as a "practical step" towards "endogenous security" in the region. The meeting included Iran's top national security chief, Mohsen Razai, Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin. Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Arakhchi, was also present. Tasnim news agency confirmed earlier reports that Pakistan had proposed the meeting of the four. "The discussions dealt with regional security, the consequences of the US's military aggression against Iran and its continuation, as well as efforts to help the people of Palestine and Lebanon," the newspaper reported.
