The new Congress will limit Trump's opportunities in foreign policy: American political scientist Rafael Ordokhanian spoke to "Alpha News" about the results of the mid-term elections for the American Congress, as well as the possible impact of their results on Washington's domestic and foreign policy. According to the expert, the reason for the defeat of the Republicans was the dissatisfaction of the American voters with the policies of Donald Trump, and not the support of the Democratic Party or the liberal agenda. "Americans voted against Donald Trump. America was not satisfied with the methods by which he tried to establish order, as he wanted and as he thought. His ambitions were quite understandable, but, apparently, the extreme measures used by Donald Trump at the time in his real estate business in New York are not acceptable to the political agenda in the USA. We know of tragic cases of the murder of illegal immigrants, and incidentally, American citizens also by immigration officers. We know the indices that exist today in the economy. This includes inflation, huge deficits, huge debt and everything that goes with it. Then came a certain moment of truth, and Donald Trump got what he got. The Americans actually condemned the Trump administration to a glorious end. As for the future fate of the MAGA movement, the defeat of the Republicans does not mean the end of the MAGA movement: its agenda is gradually being taken over by other political figures, notably Vice President J. Di Vance," noted Ordokhanian. Referring to the consequences of the election on US foreign policy, Ordokhanian noted that in the next two years, Trump will likely be forced to focus on the confrontation with the Democrats. At the same time, in his opinion, the results of the vote will become a negative factor for Russian-American relations. "The current Congress and Senate will certainly take a more violent, Biden-style, anti-Russian, I would say, Russophobic policy. We must understand this well.
