1 2 3 Baku made it clear to third countries not to interfere in the issue of Armenian prisoners: Mirzoyan The issue of returning Armenian prisoners of war is constantly on the agenda, but not only the efforts are important, but the final result. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan said this in the National Assembly, in response to the question of the deputy of the "Armenia" faction Lilit Glastian regarding specific mechanisms for solving the problem during government time. Regarding the mechanisms for providing consular or humanitarian assistance mediated by third countries, Mirzoan explained that this set of tools, operating in international practice, encountered obstacles in this case. "If you believe that I am not aware of the Geneva Convention, and you are an expert on this subject, then your ideas about our work and the country are very far from reality. Regarding my words, you misunderstood me: the phrase "stay away" was not addressed to us, but to third countries, which were made clear that they were not allowed to interfere. Indeed, there are consular mechanisms to ask partner countries to visit our citizens. We sent appropriate requests, but Baku gave them a clear signal not to interfere. This is the bitter reality," the foreign minister noted. Subscribe to Alpha News VK Zen Website TikTok Facebook Instagram YouTube X.
