Emirates Airline reported a 66% drop in net profit during the first half of its fiscal year as the US-Israel war in Iran disrupted regional air travel and sent jet fuel prices soaring. Net profit fell to 3.3 billion dirhams ($903 million) in the six months ended September 30, while revenue fell 13 percent to 56.9 billion dirhams ($15.5 billion), despite continued demand for travel and a solid contribution from its cargo operations. The war disrupted aviation across West Asia, forcing flight cancellations, delays and diversions, while rising fuel costs added pressure on regional airlines.
