Professor Mohammad Marandi said that Oman was a "good mediator" in the mediation between Iran and the US, but stressed that the outcome ultimately depends on the decisions made by the US administration. He explained that mediators can facilitate negotiations but cannot guarantee an agreement without the political will of the parties involved. Marandi also reiterated that Iran will not abandon its seven demands, which are in line with the memorandum of understanding, and warned that any expectation that Tehran would eventually compromise is a "major miscalculation" that will deepen global insecurity and instability across the Arabian Peninsula. Referring to the US political landscape, Randy cautioned against seeing the Democrats as more likely than the Republicans, pointing to the continuation of the war in Gaza under Democratic leadership. While he said that the Democratic opposition could make it difficult for Trump to continue the war, he emphasized that the US elections will not, by themselves, bring the war to an end. He concluded that regardless of the Omanis' mediation efforts, "Ultimately, the decision has to be made by the Trump regime. " Watch here.
