In a post on X, the American journalist and political commentator Tucker Carlson warned that the Trump administration could be days away from "launching a nuclear attack on Iran", and said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring the US to target Mount Picax in central Iran. Carlson added that "Israeli intelligence claims that the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program" on the site. He further asserted that “no conventional weapon in the US arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where the enrichment supposedly takes place. The only military option is a nuclear attack. Carlson revealed that Netanyahu is using senior US operatives, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper, to resume major combat operations, adding that "Bibi calls Trump about it every day," according to "an informed observer." Carlson linked Netanyahu's pressure campaign to his political difficulties in Israel, saying that he is "cornered and desperate. "After the election results last week, he will not be able to form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset," Carlson wrote. He added, "Otherwise, he's out as prime minister and on his way to disgrace, investigations and possibly prison. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war. He also claimed that the prospect of further escalation had "terrified" the Gulf states, and pointed to the UAE's "refusal" to warn of the wider consequences, Carlson said. "Fallout from a ground explosion at Mount Peaks would pollute the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people. He added that this would set a precedent that could encourage other nuclear powers to use their weapons.
