An Iraqi Kurdish mediation effort intended to open negotiations with Iranian separatist groups has been halted following reports of Israeli intervention, according to Al-Mayadeen Plus reporter in Sulaimaniyah.
Our correspondent added that the leaders of the Iraqi Kurds tried to recreate Turkey's experience with the PKK through a negotiated approach, but "Israel" worked to push the groups into a military option instead.
In addition, "Israel" promised the separatist groups continued support and to provide a buffer zone in exchange for abandoning mediation efforts.
