Iran's top security official, Mohsen Razai, told European governments that they are now reaping the consequences of backing Israeli aggression, saying that they are proud of its "dirty work" and are now complaining about the billions that the war with Iran is costing them. In a post on X on Friday, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council asked if they thought the fall would spare them after they encouraged war crimes. He emphasized that war and terrorism have a price and that now it is Europe's turn to pay. The phrase echoes the comment of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during the Israeli aggression in June 2025 on Iran that "this is the dirty work that Israel is doing to all of us". Merez said on Friday that higher energy prices since the war had cost Europe more than 100 billion euros over eight months, ruling out a military solution.
