Aden International Airport resumed air traffic and the reception of flights after a suspension that lasted for hours, following urgent maintenance work to repair damage to its runway as a result of two ballistic missile attacks launched by the Houthi militia on Wednesday, which caused the suspension of flights and the diversion of a number of them. The communications officer at the Ministry of Transport, Vadid Maltouf, said in a statement to Al-Masdr Online that the airport received an Air Djibouti flight at 1:00 p.m., before departing on its flight back to Djibouti at 1:40 p.m. The arrival of the flight came after the Minister of Transportation, Mohsen Haidra Al-Omari, announced on Thursday morning the resumption of operations at the airport, following urgent rehabilitation and maintenance work on the damaged runway, despite the risks faced by the technical teams during their work. The minister emphasized that the airport will continue to provide its services to travelers despite the repeated attacks, which indicates that flights will be rebooked and the airlines will be notified of the resumption of their operations to and from the airport. Yemen Airways has rescheduled its flights to and from Aden Airport, today, Friday, at the same time as the arrival of one of its planes coming from Amman, after air traffic data showed that it was entering the airspace of Yemen's temporary capital of Oud.
