A human rights report revealed, on Thursday, the killing of 222 children. Records indicate that the Houthis recruited them during the third quarter of the year, tracking their recruitment from schools, villages and cultural courses to training camps and battlefronts. The report issued by the SAM Organization for Rights and Freedoms, entitled "From the House to the Front", comes against the background of a widespread escalation by the Houthis against Taiz since September, and clashes and attacks during which the group suffered significant casualties, according to government forces, at the same time as the siege on the city worsened. The cases were distributed among 16 districts, led by Damar with 37 children, followed by Sanaa with 34, Haja with 33, and Saada with 25. Of the 147 children whose ages were available, 69 were between 12 and 14 years of age, and 78 were between 15 and 17 at 7 years of age, while the others were not 7 years of age. The organization confirmed that the result is "partial and preliminary", and is limited to cases related to death, and does not include child soldiers who are still alive. The report documented the taking of five children between the ages of 13 and 15 from the village of "Al-Murabak" in the rural area of Sana'a, three of them from two schools and two from a local headquarters. He also revealed evidence of children being recruited through local supervisors, cultural courses and promises of money and work in backroom positions, before training some and taking them to the front lines for more.
