*Position statement issued by the Badar Parliamentary Bloc regarding the continued closure of the Al-Shayib border crossing and its consequences for Maysan District* The Badar Parliamentary Bloc follows with great concern the consequences of the continued closure of the Al-Shaib Border Crossing in Maysan District, and the economic and livelihood damage caused as a result of it affecting the residents of the district and affecting the trade movement and the interests of the citizens, in light of the escalation of the popular action measures and the official actions taken against the government. The bloc warns that the continuation of the closure without a clear and urgent treatment may lead to the expansion of the circle of objections and the worsening of the state of tension, which obligates the federal government to deal with the demands of the Neshel with national responsibility, while taking into account its position, its economic and border importance and the interests of its people, in order to avoid any negative and social treatment, in order to avoid negative and social treatment. between the province and the federal government. First: Responding to the demands of the Meysan District The state of dissatisfaction that is taking place in the district, and the positions expressed by Meysan representatives in the House of Representatives and the local authorities, reflect the degree of concern over the continued closure of the port and its consequences for the citizens and the local economy. From this point of view, we emphasize the need to deal seriously with these legitimate demands, and to take urgent action to address the crisis, in a way that preserves the rights of the people of the district and prevents the worsening of popular tensions. Second: Demand for the reopening of the Al-Shayib port We call on the federal government and the relevant authorities to speed up the reopening of the Al-Shayib border crossing, and not to use the closure as a means to address any technical, security or administrative defect. The correct solution is to provide the necessary requirements to control the work, hold the violators accountable according to law, and ensure the continued movement of commerce and citizens, not by disrupting an essential port and causing harm to the people of the district. Third: Rejection of double standards in the management of border crossings Law enforcement and protection of public funds is a national responsibility that must be exercised according to uniform standards at all border crossings, official and unofficial, without selectivity or exceptions. If there are violations or smuggling operations through unofficial hubs in the Kurdistan region, they should be treated with the same seriousness, and subject to federal authority and law, based on official evidence and data, instead of addressing certain cases and leaving other cases without decisive solutions.
