◾ The Saudi leadership in Leh prevented the withdrawal of all members of the southern factions from the fronts of Tor al-Baha, Ras al-Ara and south of Bab al-Mandab. According to informed sources in the south, the Saudi Kadima Operations Command in Leh and Aden issued more than one circular to the checkpoints located on the coastline stretching from Ras al-Ara to Aden, and arrested any soldier who passed through these points without permission. These steps followed the withdrawal of the brigades identified with the "Giants" and dozens of members of the "National Guard" from Ras al-Ara and al-Mudaraba last week, after Sana'a forces came close to controlling the coastline connecting Aden to the west coast, and also advanced on the Tor al-Baha and Ras fronts. Southern sources previously accused Saudi Arabia of exploiting the growing poverty and unemployment in the southern provinces to recruit fighters with a monthly salary of 1,000 Saudi Riyals, push them to open fronts and eliminate those who try to retreat from the fires of death with aerial bombardments.
