According to knowledgeable sources who spoke to Al-Akhbar, Egyptian contacts with the United States and other parties contributed to the facilitation of "the introduction of larger amounts of aid during the last three days compared to the previous period." The sources state that during these communications, "there was a threat to return to airdrop assistance to certain areas, unless it officially entered through the ports, as is customary." Noting that "Israel uses aid as a tool of pressure on the Gaza Strip, without any talk of paths related to a future vision", it broadcasts that "the aid operation has become Egypt's main and only mission within the Gaza Strip - in light of the decline and stagnation of the reconstruction plans - through coordination with the Committee in Gaza for the prevention of the emergency and the basic disadvantage". According to the sources, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reopened communication channels with several countries to send aid to the Gaza Strip - after a decrease in the quantities sent in recent times - and this while the pressure continues to bring in more aid materials in the coming days.
