Unlike food items bought daily or weekly, families usually buy writing instruments once a year in large quantities; therefore, they feel the price increase of these products all at once.
š¹ It is possible that last year a family bought items they needed for their children for 5 million tomans, but this year they spend about 10 million tomans for the same items. A significant portion of the price increase is also related to the structure of production and import costs. About 40% of the writing instruments market is imported, and 60% of local production significantly depends on imported raw materials or petrochemical products.
