The 2026 Asian Games medal table at the end of the first day

The first day of the 20th Asian Games hosted by the city of Nagoya in Japan has ended.

On the first day of these games, 101 medals were awarded, and 26 countries managed to place their names on the medal distribution table.

On this day, the Chinese team recorded the best performance with 11 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 3 bronze medals for a total of 20 medals and it managed to top the medal table. Eight countries could also taste the gold medal.

Thanks to the bronze medal won by the basketball team, Iran's convoy entered the medal distribution table and stood in 21st place.
