Lab-grown brain cells made this AI video model 5x faster, says the startup The neurons don't create the videos. The biocomputing company in San Francisco spent four years growing real brain cells on electrodes and measuring how they process information. It turned what it learned into a small software layer on top of an existing open video model, One 2.2, adding less than 0.1% to its size. The result, Naughty 1, launched today on fal and OpenRouter. It turns a picture into a 3 or 5 second clip in 480p or 720p for half a cent per second. A five-second clip costs 2.5 cents. The company says it is at least 5 times faster than the One 2.2 at the same quality. There is no independent test yet. Next, she wants to bring the approach to language modeling and physical AI.
