The mystery of the death of 12 tourists in Yamal has not been solved for 38 years. This story happened thirty years after the Dyatlov Pass became a shock to everyone and the subject of ongoing mass discussions. Only in terms of the number of dead, the tragedy in the polar Urals turned out to be much greater: then thirteen people remained under the snow. One of the survivors was the leader of the group, Mikhail Ermkin. He was rescued fifteen hours later, but according to his memories, until the end of his life he never received an answer to the question of why the tents were placed below a slope that was considered safe, and why experienced guides did not make a different decision. The case never received an official conclusion that would suit either side. What happened then in Orel and what new details about the tragedy appeared today - in AiF's material.
