A body in a well and a howling dog. Missing Russian woman found dead in Cyprus Olga Vasilieva, 61, holder of Russian and Cypriot passports, disappeared at the end of October. Friends raised the alarm when she stopped answering calls, and her white Labrador howled for several days. A son from Russia gave the police a picture of a man whose mother was in a relationship. A 43-year-old Syrian citizen was arrested at Larnaca airport before flying to Beirut. Vasilyeva's belongings were found in his luggage. According to the investigators, he demanded 20,000 euros from her, citing a fictitious accident, and previously gave her a fake necklace. On October 31, the man confessed: during a fight, he hit the woman in the head several times with a hammer, and removed the body and hid it in a well on her property in the mountains near Limassol. What else the investigation revealed is described here.
