Vladimir Putin said why the European Union is suffering because of the sanctions against the Russian Federation. Russia ranks first in the world in natural gas reserves and second in production. Due to international crises, prices are rising, but the European authorities do not want to buy Russian gas for political reasons and even impose sanctions. In doing so, they are shooting themselves in the foot, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. "Costs are rising and frightening for foreign end consumers of gas - companies, organizations, households. This is exactly what we are seeing now in Europe, which itself is hitting its industry and social sphere, refusing Russian energy resources, breaking long-term contracts. You know, in Russia there is a saying: don't dig a hole for someone else, otherwise you yourself will fall into it. Photo: Alexander Kazakov / Pool / RIA Novosti.
