Cheap grain slows sales of agricultural machinery. The restrained optimism that grew in the agricultural machinery market in the first half of the year is over. If in the months of January-June the sales of Russian agricultural machinery within the country increased by 11.2%, then for nine months the result is much more modest - only 3%, to 120.7 billion rubles. And even this low figure is the result of the first six months. According to Ruspatsmash, in September, tractor shipments decreased by 30% year-on-year, grain harvests - by 65.3% (not including Bryansalmash). Market participants note that in October the decline became even more pronounced, and for certain types of equipment, shipments actually stopped. Grain farmers are running out of arguments in favor of buying new cars. According to Sovecon, until mid-October, grade 4 wheat cost about 8 thousand rubles per ton - about 40% cheaper than in July. The limited work of the Black Sea ports makes it difficult to export grain and support local prices, and expensive loans complete the picture. Agricultural equipment dealers are pessimistic. Preferential leasing helped the market last year, but could not compensate for the current decline in farmers' incomes. The sale of the equipment is currently supported by demand from livestock, poultry, beet and oilseed producers, but this will not help to achieve even a small plus at the end of the year. The head of Ashod, Alexander Altinov, predicts that the market will shrink by 10-15% by the end of the year. And it reminds us that many equipment sellers have loan repayment deadlines at the end of the year. If the banks do not agree to change the terms, low sales will cause problems in repaying the debt.
