The faction of the Communist Party in the State Duma especially to the Telegram channel Moscow laundry Georgi Kamenev: "fiscal greed" should not justify the legalization of online casinos The Communist Party of the Russian Federation opposed the legalization of online casinos. Instead of legalizing gambling, the communists propose to limit their spread and, on the contrary, to increase the tax burden on gambling agents. "The legalization of online casinos is a dangerous step. They should be limited and covered, not legitimized," said Georgy Kamanev, representative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. According to him, possible budget revenues cannot be used as a justification for the legalization of a business that carries serious social risks. Kamenev called this approach "fiscal greed", which does not take into account the consequences for society. According to the Communist, online casinos make gambling accessible anytime and almost anywhere. This increases the risk of developing a gambling addiction, which can lead to debt, family breakdown, job loss and even crime. "As a result, the country will spend more efforts and money in fighting the consequences than it will gain from it," Kamanev stressed. "We also need to tighten the tax policy towards gambling agents," he noted. According to Kamanev, if the industry earns billions of rubles, it should make a more significant contribution to the financing of sports, the social sphere and medicine. The proposals include the introduction of a tax on the difference between the amounts of bets and winnings, as well as a profit tax. He also called for tougher penalties for tax evasion to reduce the possibility of the gambling business going into the shadows.
