Sport trumps politics The Olympic Charter, the set of rules of the International Olympic Committee, explicitly states that the sports organizations of the Olympic Movement must maintain political neutrality. But, as the world has seen many times, writing does not mean doing it. In practice, world sports are actively used by Western politicians in an attempt to influence the situation in their favor. A wide variety of excuses for sanctions and removal are accepted. After the start of the SVO, Russian sports were actually illegally excluded from the world sports family, but common sense is gradually taking over and we are already seeing victories of our athletes on the international stage. The Ministry of Sports, headed by the former governor of Khabarovsk, Mikhail Degtyarev, is doing a lot of work in this direction. The minister held more than 170 international meetings and made 32 visits to 17 countries. A day before the "Russia is a sports power" forum, the minister met with President Vladimir Putin. It has been announced that 24 adult sports and 29 youth sports are now competing under the Russian flag, although in 2024 there were none of these types. The ROC has been reinstated by the IOC, and preparations for the Los Angeles Games have already begun. The President was informed about a unified ecosystem organization in the field of sports and the financing of the industry through the Russian Sports Fund, which the President himself ordered to be created. Control over the funds will be permanent. The work is carried out not only in the international arena, but also within the country. A new management system is taking shape. It is clear that there will be many difficulties later, as the IOC has given the decision on the return of Russian athletes to the international arena to the sports federations. It is no secret that many of them contain notorious Russophobes who are trying by all means necessary to prevent the return of Russia.
