Residents of several districts in Kabul say street rehabilitation projects have stalled after months of digging, and traffic, businesses and the safety of children are facing problems.

According to the residents of Shetal Bakhir Khana, the Taliban destroyed the street about two months ago for the purpose of reconstruction, but the work was stopped despite the moving of the machines. Shop owners also complain about the damage to their business activities.

Afghanistan International's review of the Taliban's municipal plan shows that the rebuilding of three streets in Shattel and 500 families was contracted for 15 million Afghans, and is due to be completed this year. The length of these three streets is 813 meters.

In Sarkotel Kharkan, the residents say that the street that was dug about a month ago to pass the power line of the Iron Smelting Company, has not yet been repaired. According to a resident, at least three children fell into the holes that were created and were injured.
