Baktesh Siyabash, a former member of the Afghan parliament, criticized the international community's approach to the Taliban at a meeting of the European Union Parliament on Thursday. According to him, the countries of the world follow "double standards" regarding Afghanistan and especially the situation of women. He asked governments and international institutions to recognize gender apartheid in Afghanistan. Mr. Siavash asked the representatives of the European countries to adopt more practical positions against the Taliban. Baktesh Siyabash said that more than 1,908 days have passed since the start of the Taliban's restrictive policy against Afghan women and girls; A policy she says has denied millions of women and girls their basic rights, including education, work and participation in public life.
