Several shopkeepers in Kandahar say the Taliban are destroying about 2,000 shops in two commercial markets called Manday and Kabri. They say they have invested almost 400 million Afghanis in these markets and if they are destroyed, hundreds of people will be unemployed and lose their sources of income. A number of Kandahar shopkeepers told Afghanistan International on Sunday, the 10th of Aqrab, that the Taliban municipality had informed them to vacate the markets of Mandi and Kabri in that city and move their commercial goods to other centers.
