Local sources in Badakhshan say that a week after a deadly clash at a wedding ceremony in Shahr Buzur district, Taliban police continued to arrest and harass local residents. According to the sources, the Taliban also searched several houses and cut off the internet in the major city of Dakshan in recent days. At the same time, local residents said that these measures increased public dissatisfaction and anger over the behavior of Abdul Wahab Faruqi, the Taliban police chief in the capital. Clashes occurred during the wedding ceremony on Saturday night, Monday in Scorpio, after Taliban forces marched into the ceremony in the village of Nadian in this district to prevent music and firecrackers from being played. As a result of the shooting, one Taliban official was killed and four others, including two members of the group, were wounded.
