Message from the Minister's Office:

"Defense Minister Israel Katz directed the IDF to increase vigilance and be prepared for any possible scenario in Gaza ahead of October 7th, which will be tomorrow, and this in view of information about Hamas' intentions to try to carry out attacks and terror attacks against our forces in Gaza on this day.

The Minister of Defense emphasized that one must prepare for severity and act with great intensity in response to any information and warning in order to thwart any threat, and this is beyond the powerful activity that is being carried out even today.

If, God forbid, there is an injury to our forces - the ones who will pay the heavy price is Hamas and the population of Gaza - beyond all proportions - as the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense made clear this week during their visit to the Kissuf outpost on the Gaza border together with the commander of the Southern Command."
