Britain has prepared a plan in the event of a total shutdown.
Authorities have developed a "black sky" scenario in the event of a large-scale power outage across the country, the BBC reports. Media outlets will be required to provide backup radio coverage for 72 hours, and residents are asked to have at least three days of water, food and medicine.
The government has also earmarked £70 million to create flying communications towers that can support mobile networks for up to a week. The reason for such a scenario could be a major power outage or a cyber attack.
