Fox News: The Pentagon is preparing for a major war with a plan to ensure the independence of US military bases for 90 days The Pentagon is preparing to allow US military bases to operate independently for at least 90 days, in the event of a major war that disrupts power grids, supply chains and vital infrastructure within the United States, according to Fox News. These preparations fall within the framework of an initiative known as "Fortress", which aims to ensure the continued operation of central military facilities, including the supply of electricity, water, fuel and communications, without relying on civilian infrastructure. The Pentagon is also working to develop alternative supply chains, establish strategic reserves and develop plans to convert civilian factories to military production in emergency situations.
