It was often impossible to form an Israeli government. Eyes on Herzog.

Preliminary results after counting about 85 percent of the votes, give the Netanyahu camp 53 seats, compared to 48 for the Change Bloc and 19 for the Arab lists. After the announcement of the official results on November 4, President Yitzhak Herzog will hold consultations with representatives of 11 parties before being tasked with forming a government by a Knesset member.

The law does not require the president to appoint the leader of the largest party, and in 2009 Shimon Peres appointed Netanyahu even though he previously won the most seats.

The taxpayer gets 28 days that can be extended, and the process may reach 3 attempts, and if all of them fail, Israel will move to new elections.
