The commander of the Baltic Fleet's Leningrad Naval Base, Alexei Soglobov, and the head of the Defense Ministry's Naval Engineering Service, Alexei Ionov, were arrested in a bribery case. Soglobov was caught red-handed on October 21 in Kronstadt while receiving 1.5 million rubles. The investigation believes that both received systematic kickbacks from businessmen who were provided space at the Leningrad naval base for commercial use.
