The Russian Foreign Ministry denied the report according to which Moscow refused to approve the candidacy of Sambal McCarthyan for the position of ambassador to Armenia. "This publication does not correspond to reality," the Russian Foreign Ministry told RBC. Earlier, the Armenian media reported that Russia allegedly refused to approve Makratchian, citing his previous work in Poland and NATO. In the summer, information also appeared about the recall of the current Armenian ambassador in Moscow Gurgan Arsenyan, but he did not receive official confirmation.
