The Houthi missile attack on the Shabwa base leaves 75 dead and more than 200 wounded!
On October 19, a ballistic missile attack by the Houthi group on a Saudi-controlled training base in Yemen's Sheba Governorate killed at least 75 people and wounded more than 200 others, including Saudi soldiers.
Saudi and Yemeni officials briefed on the attack reported that it was the most serious attack launched by the Houthi movement during the new war.
Three missiles hit the al-Alam camp within minutes, just as Saudi officers were about to begin training new local forces.
Eyewitnesses said that four brigades were gathered when the first missile hit, and that one of the subsequent missiles hit the soldiers as they fled from the first explosion.
Drones had been flying over the base for a few days before.
Relatives of the dead and wounded accused the local Yemeni commander of ignoring these warnings. Officials reported that the camp had no air defense or early warning systems, and that authorities in Shava are now pressing Riyadh to quickly provide them with these systems.
