/ Saudi Arabia - Security warning issued by the US Mission:
The US Mission in Saudi Arabia announced that it is aware of attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh starting October 8, and reminds all American citizens of the need to exercise utmost caution.
The Mission stated in its announcement:
"The Houthis have taken hostile actions against Saudi Arabia, including targeting civilian airports, and there is potential for military conflict escalation.
American citizens should be aware of the possibility of flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.
We recommend checking flight status directly with airlines and airports.
We also advise American citizens not to travel to areas near the Yemen border, and to follow the national guidelines and warnings issued by Saudi Civil Defense."
Restrictions imposed on US government employees in Saudi Arabia: US government employees working in Saudi Arabia are now required to obtain special permission to use King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
US government employees are prohibited from traveling to areas within 20 miles (approx. 32 km) of the Yemen border due to security risks.
Special permission is required to travel to the Jizan, Asir, and Najran regions, as well as the cities of Qatif, Yanbu, and Taif.
