Syria denies reports of sending troops to Yemen.
The presidential media adviser, Ahmed Mufaq Zeidan, described the reports as "baseless lies", and at the same time emphasized that Syria stands by the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Syrian Ministry of Information issued a separate statement, saying that Damascus's priority is "restoring the state and its institutions", not "opening new fronts".
This statement directly contradicts reports from Axios and Reuters published today, which reported that Damascus is seriously considering a request from Saudi Arabia to deploy between 10,000 and 20,000 troops.
The official statement states that any military cooperation takes place "only through official channels and existing bilateral frameworks."
There has been no official confirmation or denial from Saudi Arabia regarding this request.
