According to what the clan announced, an armed militant confrontation broke out that lasted several hours, during which light and medium weapons of various types were used. The clan members managed to free the ship, kill several pirates and capture others, in addition to seizing their weapons.

The ship was transporting white oil from the United Arab Emirates to several European countries, before it was hijacked by Somali pirates off the Somali coast, near the Bab al-Mandab area.

After coordination with the Somali government and careful monitoring of the operation, the members of the clan managed to free and recover the ship.
