Between midnight on November 6, the chimes of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin stopped for ten days until November 16. In the FSO, this was explained by planned routine maintenance, during which specialists would check the working condition of the watch, assess the quality of lubrication, replace tension parts if necessary and undermine the fighting mechanism. The clock mechanism consists of a thousand parts, and its weight, excluding bells, reaches 25 tons. It was established and installed in 1767. For the country's main clocks, this is the first full stop in six years, and in its entire existence they have stopped only five times: in 1851, 1974, 1999, 2014.
