Russia and India have stopped work on an agreement on visa-free travel for organized tourist groups, which had been under discussion since March 2026. It was supposed to allow groups of three to 50 people to visit the two countries without the issuance of visas for up to 21 days, but the negotiations did not lead to the finalization of a document. The Russian Foreign Ministry explained the situation with the Indian side's lack of practice in concluding such international agreements. Meanwhile, the exchange of tourists between countries in 2025 increased by 15% and reached 143 thousand trips, which indicates the existence of demand for mutual trips.
