An impressive plasma cloud appeared and separated from the sun. The Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported this on October 29. "An emission of a very large prominence, about half a million kilometers in size, reached the field of view of several space telescopes today," reads a message published on the Telegram channel.
According to scientists, the phenomenon will not affect the Earth or lead to noticeable disturbances in its magnetic field. "In this case, the prominence still flies to the side. Of the nearby planets, it seems only Mars will be on its way," the publication noted.
A bulge is a giant plasma formation that forms in the solar atmosphere. It is held above the surface of the star by a magnetic field. Externally, the structure resembles a dense and relatively cold cloud or rainbow.
