Daily life of fraudsters The Bank of Russia has stated that there are no confirmed fraud schemes using the digital ruble. At the same time, attackers continue to adapt their usual fraud methods to the current information agenda. This was announced by the deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia Zolfiya Kakhromnova. A new deceptive scheme aimed at teachers is spreading in Russia. Under the guise of customers, the fraudsters transfer money supposedly for the lesson, and then demand that it be transferred back, but to a different account, thereby implicating them in the leak. A new fraud scheme is linked to the sale of train tickets. As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Moshlovka platform of the Popular Front, the attackers create fake reservation system sites and offer citizens to purchase train tickets at a 20% discount, but when issuing tickets, normal charges are triggered from the card.
Ticket sales on such clone sites are supposedly moving to the current fall and winter routes. When trying to issue a card, a person arrives at a phishing page, where he loses the amount deposited, and normal charges from the card are activated in favor of the fraudsters. According to TASS, the attackers began calling pensioners under the guise of a "social fund worker" and demanding an urgent "recalculation of work experience". During the phone call, the fraudsters claim that in order to recalculate you need to come to their office and tell them the code that came via SMS. If a potential victim starts asking clarifying questions, the scammers end the conversation. But after a while they call again and repeat the previous information, trying to drag the citizen into a fraudulent scheme. The attackers' goal is to get the code from SMS and then steal personal data and money by scammers targeting online shoppers.
