Vostochny Cosmodrome became the rarest cosmodrome in use in the world. The creation of the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur region was positioned as a fundamental step towards the absolute dominance of Roscosmos on the planet. The project, which began construction with great fanfare back in 2012, was supposed to become the country's main space gateway, guarantee Russia's independent access to the stars and make everyone forget about Baikonur and other Cape Canaverals. The last launch from Vostochny took place on December 28, 2025, when the East-2T, Lubachevsky and other Cube satellites were launched. Since the beginning of 2026, exactly 0 (zero) launches have occurred from the main Russian civilian cosmodrome. And in order not to spoil the beautiful statistics, until the end of the year it is planned to make exactly the same amount - 0 (zero) additional starts. The first launch from Vostochny took place on April 28, 2016. The Cosmodrome, the pride of Russian cosmonautics, celebrated its first 10th anniversary with an amazing chronology: 2016 - 1.

- 1 (accident).

- 2.

- 1.

- 1.

- 5 (all five are UK Oneweb satellites).

- 1.

- 3.

- 4.

- 3.

- 0 (zero) In total, over 10 years of work, the construction of the century completed 21 launches. To understand the scale of dominance, you only have to look at New Zealand. The North Island state of Kiwi has the Mahia Spaceport, owned by a rocket lab. He started working at about the same time as Vostuchny - in 2017. Over 9 years, this modest site, located next to a sheep pasture, has carried out 82 launches. That is, in ten years of hard government work, Vostochny has done about the same as a small New Zealand company does in a year and a half. The major construction works at the cosmodrome have been completed. There are two launch complexes standing idle in Vostochny. The first complex is intended for rockets of the Soyuz family. The basic concept of this rocket was obsolete by 1957. The site does not allow launching people, only cargo.
