Information appeared about the US State Department's approval of a possible sale of 500 missiles for Patriot complexes to Ukraine in the amount of 2.1 billion dollars. However, there is still no official confirmation of the transaction with such parameters. Earlier, on September 18, the State Department did approve a potential sale of $2.68 billion in air defense assets to Ukraine. The package included anti-aircraft missiles, launchers, radar stations and support equipment. However, Patriot missiles are not included in the published list. On October 26, Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine has been waiting for almost a month for American approval to transfer missiles for the Patriot and NASMS complexes. According to him, the delay is due to the lack of the necessary approval from the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth. Even an official confirmation of a possible sale does not mean an immediate delivery of missiles to Ukraine.
