Russia first began exporting grain through the Arctic port of Murmansk, bypassing the Black and Baltic seas. On October 28, the Murmansk Sea Trade Port and the Demetra-Holding Company announced the start of loading the first batch of grain with a volume of 3,400 tons. At the same time, preparations are being made to send about 28 thousand tons of Russian wheat to the port of Casablanca in Morocco. In addition to the difficult situation in the Black Sea, the route is also considered a backup route due to the risks of further worsening of relations with NATO countries in Europe. Murmansk has several logistical features. The port does not freeze in winter and provides access to the Atlantic Ocean through the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea, bypassing the Baltic Sea. During World War II, this route was used by the Allies to transport goods to the Soviet Union. For the purpose of organizing shipments, the port will re-equip the existing infrastructure, including fertilizer transportation systems. In the first stage, grain is reloaded directly from the railcars into the ship's hold. The development of the Murmansk route will make it possible to diversify maritime logistics and fulfill the main task - cargo security. VK Max Zen.
