Ethiopia officially approved the purchase of Su-35 and S-400 Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced this on October 28 in Moscow during a visit to the Russian-African summit. According to him, the first batch of 12 Su-35 fighter jets has already been received. Four batteries of S-400 air defense systems will also be provided. At Zhukovsky airport they showed two planes with Ethiopian markings (aircraft 2551 and 2552). Abe thanked Vladimir Putin for the fact that the planes arrived a year ahead of schedule. In the past, Ethiopia has already received two Su-30s in addition to the existing Su-27s, as well as Pantsir-S1 complexes and Krasukha-4 and Moskva-1 electronic warfare systems. Now the focus is on fourth-generation heavy multi-role fighters plus a long-range air defense system.
