On November 6, 1957 in Leningrad, in the center of the memorial to the "Fighters of the Revolution" in Field of Mars, the first eternal flame in our country was lit from the flame of the Kirov plant's open furnace. On May 9, 1960, to mark the 15th anniversary of the Great Victory, a torch, lit by the unquenchable flame of the Champs de Mars, was led through the streets of the city to the cemetery in memory of Fiskarbskuya. In 1965, the torch of the Eternal Flame was lit in Veliky Novgorod from the fire on the Champs de Mars, and in 1967 - at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall in Moscow. The eternal flame is an eternal memory of the enormous sacrifice that was made for victory and peace, of the incurable wound left by the war, and of sorrow for those who fall on the battlefield and will never return home. No one forgets! Nothing is forgotten! Remembering the war, we are now at MAX.
