🇫🇷🇫🇮 Finland has officially begun to implement its cooperation within France's forward nuclear deterrence initiative.
The practical cooperation involves an in-depth strategic dialogue on the French nuclear doctrine, joint military exercises and potential temporary placements of elements of the French strategic air force in Finland.
While Finland's parliament voted earlier in 2026 to lift its blanket ban on nuclear weapons to allow for defense flexibility, President Staab reiterated that Finland has no intention of permanently stationing nuclear weapons on its territory in peacetime.
