The Spanish member of parliament of Algerian origin Tesh Sidi and the second candidate on the electoral list of the left coalition Ferrante Empalio in Madrid, celebrated the death of Pope Francis and joked about supplying weapons to the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas.

According to internal Telegram messages published by Spanish newspapers La Razón and El Español, Sidi wrote, "We Muslims celebrate death, hahaha," in April 2025, after the death of Pope Francis.

The announcement appeared in a parliamentary group chat involving 74 Somar members, where politicians were discussing Spain's decision to declare three days of official mourning for the Pope. One colleague responded with some question marks.

In another message dated October 8, 2025, Sidi joked, "When can we ask Hamas for weapons? while coordinating posts on social networks celebrating the Spanish Parliament's approval of restrictions on arms sales to Israel.

The revelations come after three former advisers filed internal complaints against Sidi, accusing her of abusive, hostile and degrading treatment.
